Opago and A Place Like Home (APLH) first entered into an agreement in November 2019. APLH is a legacy short let agency with a well established brand and trusted management team based in south west London.
Opago provided APLH with housekeeping services, linen, logistics, key handling, storage and daily coordination of activities. Opago also provided a tech platform for APLH to access all their services via a dashboard with live schedule tracking and downloadable reports.
ALPH had been working with an existing supplier of cleaning services when quality started to become an issue. Opago was given the opportunity to trial for the contract and passed the test successfully by demonstrating flexibility, consistency and much improved standards.
APLH also had the challenge of transitioning the contract from the previous supplier to Opago due to restrictions around the TUPE scheme, which meant that Opago was obliged to employ staff members from the previous company. Opago managed this process and professionally and ensured that there was no impact to APLH.
Following the impact of COVID-19, APLH took the strategic decision in 2020 to reduce the size of their team and therefore leverage the operational capacity and support services of Opago more effectively. This has enabled APLH to continue running a large portfolio but with reduced headcount and lower overheads, becoming a more sustainable business for the long term.
